Trainee or Modern Apprenticeship – Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator

KR Group are seeking an enthusiastic individual, with an interest in construction, to join our team as a Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator, as a Trainee or Modern Apprentice. This entry-level opportunity will be based at our workshop in Newburgh, Aberdeenshire. The post offers a blend of practical, hands-on experience with theoretical learning, providing you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your career.

The traineeship/MA will focus on developing welding and fabricating skills and provide an opportunity to learn from an experienced team. If completing a Modern Apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be supported with dedicated study time.

Role Requirements:

  • Can demonstrate base knowledge of the construction industry (or a willingness to learn!).
  • Able to communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and external contacts.
  • Works accurately, with an attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a workshop environment, and operating machinery whilst adhering to strict safety regulations and procedures.
  • Dedicated to continual learning, and commitment to Trainee or Modern Apprenticeship programme.
  • Has some knowledge of MIG and Flux core welding.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
